Spend $1mil to change someone’s life forever for the better: Republicans heads explode with rage.
Spend $1mil to punish someone, ruining their life: Republicans cheer.
….
That’s because $10,000 was spent actually ruining the life, while $990,000 was siphoned off into a donor or close friends pocket. These are private companies running these deportation flights and every cent is a literal raiding of the treasury by private capital.
Rwanda is $1 million per migrant? Total costs $30 mil? I have a feeling there were not very many Rwandan migrants deported
But think about the benefits of making sure those 30 people were violently kidnapped and deported from the USA at great expense and with great suffering! Can’t you feel your life improving? (Note: this only works if you’re one of those Americans who feels better when they see someone else feeling worse.)
They (Rwanda) accepted 7 people, and they did it for $7.5 million. Did you read the article you posted? I mean, you clearly didn’t, but like, why?
According to the report, at least $32 million was paid to five countries — Equatorial Guinea, Rwanda, El Salvador, Eswatini and Palau — which together accepted about 300 migrants. Rwanda received $7.5 million and accepted seven people, with additional flight expenses bringing the estimated cost to more than $1 million per migrant. Palau received $7.5 million but had not accepted any deportees as of January 2026, the report states.
